Malaga

Our last morning in Ronda!  We left the hotel at 6:30 am to walk to our train. We got take-out coffee at the station bar to go with our cake and orange juice boxes. The train trip with Chris and Anne went through pretty country. We parted at the Malaga rail station - they took another train to the airport; our flight was the next morning. We walked to our hotel and left our luggage.

Frances wanted more breakfast so we stopped at a cafe. Then we visited the cathedral which is very large. Other than that and a nice picture of St Barbara and another one of Anne and Mary, it wasn't very exciting. We went to the Alcazaba, which was a Moorish palace and fort. There was also a portion of a Roman theatre. The Moorish decoration was lovely even though much of it was damaged. Some of the detailed decoration and the architecture is still there. We had Moroccan food for lunch. We had arrived at the restaurant around 1:30 and it was empty. By 2:30, all the tables were taken!

We did some last minute shopping and had a fried fish dinner on a lovely and busy square, Plaza de la Constitución. It was fun to watch the families and shoppers while eating outdoors in November! Spanish bubbly on our hotel balcony was a great way to end our Spanish holiday.

A 9 am flight home after a wonderful three weeks. And even our luggage arrived with us despite the transfer at Charles de Gaulle airport!
